Success story - Occupational Therapy

Our Therapy Team member Lisa Notley – Occupational Therapist had some great family feedback. Lisa has been doing the “Alert Programme – How Does Your Engine Run?” (Williams and Shellenberger) with Jackson, who has Autism and does get very worried about changes. This is one of the many programmes we offer to help your child to have more success.

Hi Lisa,
I just wanted to write a quick email to say thank you so much for all your support and teaching us calm down methods. Jackson has been practicing for little theater this week and at first we had a few meltdowns then he loved it until we got to the performance last night. I didn't think he would join in but when I returned to watch the show he hopped up on the stage said his line loud and proud, sang both songs and danced he did so well everyone was impressed(he was the smallest kid up there and only 1 of the 2 preps) and he was stoked with himself and having so many people come up and tell him how proud they were. He wouldn't have been able to do any of it without the body movements and breathing exercises you have taught us. Thank you 😁 I included before and photos of Jacky & Rissa so you could see the difference in him 😀
Tash.
