On Friday 13th July 2018 at 7am we left from Granite Belt Support Services on the bus to head to Brisbane Portside Terminal to board our Cruise Ship! The Pacific Aria. We boarded the ship at 2pm then sailed away at 4pm, heading to Hamilton Island. Once we were anchored, we got off the Aria and went in a small tender boat across to Hamilton Island. We did a bit of walking and visited the Wildlife Park and a Wildlife Ranger took us around the park and explained some things about the animals. That afternoon, we had lunch and chilled out on the pool deck.
In the evenings on the Aria, we watched lots of live shows, did some Karaoke and did lots of dancing. There was an ABBA sing-along night which was so entertaining, the whole group was up dancing! The entertainment crew on board were so good at organizing the evening events.
We stopped in Cairns for two days, did lots of walking and also went on the Aqua Duck a bus that turns into a boat.! While out on the river in the Aqua Duck, the owner told us about interesting things around the river. We were warned we might see a crocodile but luckily we didn't!
The weather in Cairns was WARM.
The cruise involved a lot of eating and a lot of laughing - WE HAD A BLAST!
Then the week was over and we were home to Stanthorpe.. and to the COLD!
